 When
teenager David Rice (Max Theriot) finds himself under the ice in a
lake, he knows he is dead, until he appears in his public library
soaking wet in a pool of water. Then the adventure begins. Rice leaves
leaves his dead beat father and female interest, Millie (AnnaSophia
Robb), to pursue a better life. Rice decides he too can leave just like
his mom (Diane Lane) did when he was 5. Now, Rice (Hayden Christenson)
is all grown up and has made his way robbing banks and traveling the
world in an instant. Rice decides to go back, finally, to his home town
of Ann Arbor and see his lost love, Millie (Rachel Bilson). He finds
her still in the same town. The two, still interested in each other,
decide to take a trip to Rome. Their, Rice meets the Paladens, a group
whos sole purpose it is to kill Jumpers. Led by Roland (Samual L.
Jackson) the war begins. Rice teams up with fellow Jumper, Griffin
(Jamie Bell) and they vow to kill Roland before he kills Millie. The
battle between the two sides rages and ultimately leads to the
revelation of a dark family secret. Based on the novel by Steven Gould.
